In record-setting fashion, Comeback Kid earned a whopping 516 points in SB48 to claim his 5th HSBT Trophy. While the margin of victory was small (19 points over 2nd place finisher Greg the Great), his 2014 total of 980 points shattered the prior record of 956 points (Greg the Great in 1996).
It was a stunning reversal of fortunes, especially for Henrico FiveOh, who agonized for 2 weeks before predicting the Broncos to win a tight one, 24-23. Had he stayed with his Bonus Pick selection (Seattle) by the same score, he would be basking in the glory of his 7th HSBT Trophy at this time. He did, however, have the lowest variance this season, with 16.18 per game to accompany his 3rd place (the bronze chicken wing award) finish. Similarly, Greg the Great had the trophy in his sites until the Seahawks went over the 29-point mark in their 43-8 blowout win. His 961 total points this year is 2nd best all-time.
Ben the Butler had a good Super Bowl and moved from last to 4th overall with a 381-point effort. The remaining participants performed about as well as the Denver offense…
Congrats to Comeback Kid on his Comeback win!! More to come once the final analysis is completed.
