Clarifying Late Pick Rules

OK Guys,

This has created issues for us in the past and I want to clear the air before we get going on the NFL Playoffs next weekend. Here is how we’re handling the submission of late picks (which I think echoes the comments and decisions we made before):

Wild Card and 1st Round Games (2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday)

With 4 games on these weekends, your picks for all 4 games are to be submitted before the kickoff of the first game on Saturday. Recently the first game on Saturday has a TV start time of 4:30pm kickoff, but check the NFL schedule for the actual time.

If you submit all 4 picks after the kickoff of the 1st Saturday game, your final score for both Saturday games will be minus 25 as a penalty (and also incentive to not do this again).  Your Sunday picks, however, will not be affected.

If you do not submit any scores for the Sunday games in conjunction with your picks for the Saturday games, you will get zero points for both Sunday games.  You cannot wait until Sunday to submit your Sunday game scores.  This would not be fair for the rest of us, as weather conditions and last minute injury/illness updates could change from Saturday.

Conference Finals (both games on Sunday)

Your picks for both games must be submitted prior to the kickoff of the 1st game. Typically the 1st game has a TV start time of 1:00pm.  If you are late with your picks (based on the time stamp from the website), your score for each game will be minus 25.

Super Bowl

Your pick must be submitted before kickoff.  If it is late, you will “earn” minus 25 points for the Super Bowl game (however, your Super Bowl Bonus pick will not be affected).

Super Bowl Bonus Pick

This must be submitted in conjunction with your picks for the 1st Round games, when there are 8 remaining teams.  If this pick is submitted late, you will not have the opportunity to earn the 100 point bonus for the Super Bowl.

I hope this clarifies everything.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Tomorrow’s AFC games should be good, as we will find out who the remaining 2 teams will be.
