Welcome JTB!!

23 Dec 2014

By an overwhelming majority vote, JTB officially became the 8th active participant in the Hewes Super Bowl Trophy competition.  His application process was flawless and the other participants quickly welcomed him into the competition, which starts in January 2015.  JTB is an avid Cleveland Browns fan, so he will get the same sympathy as bestowed on the participants who root for the Buffalo Bills (no SB wins).  JTB  and his wife (the Commish’s daughter) reside in the Columbus, OH area, so he will be hopefully spending many hours watching the playoff games with The Commish.

As we prepare for the upcoming competition, a couple changes to note:

1.  We welcomed 2 new additions to the participant families in 2014.  Greg the Great celebrated the birth of his first son, Caeden in September.  Ben the Butler quickly followed suit, welcoming boy #2 (Orin) in December.  Ironically, both future HSBT participants weighed in at an identical 6lbs. 12 oz.

2.  Great the Great will be relocating to Seattle, WA just in time for WildCard Weekend.  Given da’ Bears lousy showing the past few years, the appeal of being a Seahawk fan makes a lot of sense.

This will be the first time we have had 8 participants.  Major kudos to Greg the Great for his detailed work in expanding the automatic scoring system, which allows you to get up to the minute scoring details during every one of the 11 playoff games.  To see how you’re faring, just go to our website and click on the Standings tab at the top for real-time updates.

I’ll be in touch shortly once the playoffs are set.

Have a Merry Christmas!!

Great to be here! For the record; Johnny Football stated that he did not have a party last Friday night, but that he did stay out late into Saturday morning. Consequently, he missed the walk through for the last game Sunday. He regrets his decisions and is hopeful that the Browns fans will forgive him.
